MG Retextured - PKM
A retexture of the MG that resembles one of the real life weapon that is based on, PKM. It's a very odd combination, judging from the butstock, it's a PK but the standard mag is (oddly enough) a 54 round drum mag, and the PK don't have any side covers at all. So it could be a "GangBang" combination of the PKM, RPD and a little from RPK as well, with a PKP Pecheneg color shceme.. i know a total mindfuck right?, so i've planned to cover all that with this texture mod, i'm currently still trying to Polish the RPD texture so it will be added in the near future update.
i've given you guys some selection over this simple texture mod, depends on your taste about how the PKM should look like.
(the RPD will also have the same selection)
Variations Available are:
1. Light Wood
2. Dark Wood
3. Red Wood
Misc:
- in order for your weapon to look like the ones in the Screen Shot you need to apply the "Extended Clip" upgrade for your MG.
- if you want to replicate a PKP Pecheneg, you could use the vanilla texture and only copy my Mag2 Files, looks best with a scope attachment.
Installation : Open up "Open IV", go to \update\x64\dlcpacks\patchday3ng\dlc.rpf\x64\models\cdimages\weapons.rpf\, Enable Edit mode, Choose which texture you prefer most, replace the w_mg_mg.ytd, w_mg_mg+hi.ytd with my files, save and close Open IV, start your game simple as that.
For the magazine copy the file w_mg_mg_mag2.ytd, w_mg_mg_mag2+hi.ytd, from the "-PK Mag Texture" Folder and repeat the process above.
This is my first attempt on texture mods, so the texture might have some rough edges here and there (common noob mistake) but you won't notice it in game don't worry ;) also give me some feedback on what you guys think about it.

Finally someone made a LMG texture that is not a gay ass skin from Black ops 2 or other games. Noice job m8
It's a good texture but it is definetely lacks detail. Magazine is kind of fine, but then wood looks too bright and out of place. Also it could of been better if you add more detail, such as a white serial number on top for example, or what is more important make it look more worn, metal looks too pristine.

@Veroken thanks for your feed back about my mod, yeah i realized the wood texture is too bright (especially the grip) or maybe because i'm testing it using a graphics mod on my GTA V, also i'm currently working on the worn version of this baby, alongside the RPD skin too.. as if you can read my mind perfectly :) . I've taken a sample from taliban used PKM, a bit rusty and dirty and wrapped around with some cloth. The future update will include some of the worn textures, only 1 texture is finnished the rest is still wip.
I wish AK we have in game was actually modelled after AK47 i hate that stock
@Suspect yea me too.. if it's an AK74 or a Tantal even, i wouldn't mind thats fine by me, yet they decided to make it to look like the Type 56.. at least give it an upgrade to have a proper butstock that gives out more accuracy to the gun and made it more alike an AK47/AKM
Man, I loved this retex, I would like to sugest you an RPG-7 inspired retex for the rocket launcher, and a Makarov inspired for one of the pistols.
@sam_uel the SNS sort of resembles a Makarov but a bit shorter, maybe i'll fiddle around with it and see what i can get.
@HardcoreLiberal Have you completed the PKM textures? This looks decent, but just look someone else said, the wood lacks in detail. Nothing serious though, it's still a thousand times better than the default textures. So good job!
