Use the below compatibility pack for new GTA patches.
https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/support-for-infamoussabre-s-pickups
Pickups takes a different approach to GTA V's weapon wheel, weapon pickups, and ped damage.
Weapon Wheel -
Before: You have 8 slots where each slot can hold multiple weapons, essentially enabling you to carry an entire armory in your pocket.
After: You have any number of slots you want (Default 4), and each slot only holds 1 weapon at a time.
Weapon Pickups -
Before: All weapon pickups are automatically picked up and each pickup always has full ammo, even if the NPC who dropped it already used some. All weapon pickups have no attachments, even if the previous owner had them equipped.
After: You have the choice of automatically picking up weapons or not. If the slot the weapon belongs to is already full, you will have the choice to swap weapons. If any weapon you are currently holding uses the same ammunition, you have the choice between automatically or manually taking ammo. Weapon pickups only contain whatever ammunition was left in them by their previous owner. Weapon pickups will be equipped with any attachments the previous owner was using. A popup will show over nearby weapon pickups to let you know of their ammo count and type.
Visible Loadout -
When enabled, Visible Loadout will display weapons you're carrying, but not currently using, on various attachment points on your player. There is one attachment point for each slot. If you require more than 4 slots, simply duplicate some of the existing slots in slots.xml. You may also edit their physical attachment points. As all weapons are not made equal, some weapons have their own attachment offsets in order to better fit on the player. These per-weapon offsets are now found in pickups.xml.
Some ammunition amounts are adjusted to be more realistic. All weapons acquired by entering certain vehicles are disabled.
This mod changes many game files. Due to this it is incompatible with a large amount of weapon/realism mods including RDE. If you want to use this mod with any incompatible mod, all you must do is merge the conflicting files. Any reward data MUST reflect Pickups game file data, otherwise Pickups will not work properly. Ammo types can be changed, but beware that all stock ammo types have been removed.
If you merge files to make Pickups compatible with other mods, please be generous enough to release them on GTA5-mods.com so others can benefit from your hard work.
To change the number of slots, you simply need to edit the data in pickups.xml so that weapons use new slots. If the highest 'group' attribute in pickups.xml is 7, you will then have 8 slots. If it's 3, you'll have 4 slots.
You will also need the right textures (in Pickups/Wheel/) for the number of slots you wish to use. I've included a template and textures for 4 and 8 slots. Use the template to make your own textures for the number of slots you desire, then follow the naming scheme I used. The script uses this naming scheme to load the appropriate textures. If it cannot find them, the script WILL NOT WORK.
All the data in pickups.xml is editable, so you can change the display names of the weapons if you desire. Be aware that these name changes only affect the Pickups script. It won't affect the stock weapon wheel or Ammunation.
Damage Engine -
Adjusts damage taken to scale depending on where peds get shot.
Areas not covered by body armor are not protected by it.
Gives various easily editable options in it's .ini settings file such as:
- Damage multiplier
- "Writhe" mode enable/disable (its where peds wiggle around on the ground and cry about being shot before ultimately dying)
- Ped/Player weapon disarming
Installation
--Script Install--
Use OpenIV's Package Installer to install Pickups.oiv. If you want to install manually, rename the package to Pickups.zip. All the files are laid out in a very easy to understand structure.
--(PREREQUISITES)--
You will need Alexander Blade's C++ Scripthook

plus, download this patch if you use the newest dlc https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/support-for-infamoussabre-s-pickups
@HaukkaZ Some other script you have installed is interfering. Figure out which one it is and stop using it.
@Summord hey man, I learned how to make a backup and am using OpenIV for some mods atm, so if shit hits the fan I'm all good and safe
@Sharpy12 Congratulations man, I am very proud of you!
@Summord thanks man :)
is it possible to uninstall the ragdoll physics to the games regular one?
@dvnsummerss how did u delete the mod?
How to return the standard physics and damage please help
@Michael 666 hey delete the damage file thing, it wont affect the pickups.
hey again... i learnt how to do more shit so i made a backup and am trying this mod again, seems to be working lol. sorry for being an asshole before
@InfamousSabre how to change ped health mechanics and the thing thats stops them from ragdolling when shot?
What way did you find? I’m trying to delete the mod out of my game @dvnsummerss
This is quite the expensive mod. It costs 20 gbs to backup the whole original files that are altered by the auto-installer. You should be providing a restoration mod or uninstaller. js
Anyone know of an alternate mod that makes limited changes to ammo count (reduction) and reduces the loadout?
@InfamousSabre how do i turn off visible loadouts? Im fairly new to modding and i may have missed it if you put it in the readme. i really like the mod other than that.
Some changes in groups and orders and I have something a little more realistic. Using Knifes and Pistols together is now no longer a problem. (: Thanks for the great mod!
@InfamousSabre btw, I found a little bug, that when we throw a "Snowball" or a "Ball", it creates a "replica"(maybe ghost) in the place where the group is(in the body) and then disappears. For example, I put the snowball in the same group as the MKII, and when I throw a snowball, it creates a snowball on my back (the same place where the MKII gets stuck when not in use). As in the image:
https://imgur.com/tqAvJrW
@anteater_balls You need to go to your folder where GTA5.exe is and open "Pickups.ini" with a text editor (notepad++, Notepad). Inside it says "Visible Loadout = 1", you change it to "Visible Loadout = 0"
hey can someone help me i have a backpack mod and i want 8 slots but i dont now the code to add them please help
@bunbun123321123 he say in description:
"To change the number of slots, you simply need to edit the data in pickups.xml so that weapons use new slots. If the highest 'group' attribute in pickups.xml is 7, you will then have 8 slots. If it's 3, you'll have 4 slots."
you only need edit "..\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto V\Pickups\Pickups.xml" in the number from "<group>X</group> from each weapon, where "X" is the slot. 7 = 8 slots (7slots + unarmed)
When my character on fire, the fire keep burning won't stop
So... how do I make this mod compatible with RDE? I couldn't understand your description I'm not a modder but i really want to use this with RDE so I'd be willing to do it. @infamousabre
